“Odessa Squared” Exhibition (SecureDating.com)

Single Ukrainian Lady in Odessa Opera House

A new art exhibition opens in Odessa, Ukraine this Monday at 4PM at the Odessa Municipal Museum of Personal Collections. “Odessa Squared” is an exhibition of watercolours dedicated to the celebration of Odessa’s Birthday on the 2nd of September. The paintings are made by a famous “quartet” of Ukrainian artist: Svetlana Mihalevitch, Tatyana Mihova, Andrey Kulikov and Igor Letinskiy.

The exhibition presents over 50 paintings of the streets of Odessa, its architecture and of course the Black Sea. The artists have captured the beauty of their beloved city in every season and under various conditions – the best gift for everyone who admires fine arts and the city of Odessa.

The main attraction of the expo is an experimental project – a giant watercolour painting created by all four artists together. The watercolour of such scale requires a great technical level – the artists have to take into consideration all technical complications, being unable to fix any mistakes, working with oversized brushes and many other. The sketch was developed and chosen by voting. During the development, through trial and error process, over 15 meters of watercolour paper was used.

The curator of the exhibition comments on the project: “Due to a big scale of the painting the viewer will be able to truly submerge into the scenery just like we do in nature – it surrounds and embraces us; when we get to the seaside and get overwhelmed by the landscape. In the same way the artists submerges into the watercolour, dissolves in them, while working on a painting.

KAZIMIR MALEVICH – BEFORE AND AFTER THE SQUARE – (SECUREDATING.COM)

Malevitch self portrait

As anyone knows, many talented people were born in Ukraine and Russia. Russian and Ukrainian women adore art in all its forms and the fine arts in particular. 100 years ago a new artistic idea in fine arts was born in Russia that was later called “suprematism” (from Latin “supremus” – highest). The creator of this idea was Kazimir Malevich.

The first time suprematism was shown to the public was in December 1913 during an avant-garde opera ”The Victory over the Sun” where decorations and costumes were designed by Malevich. In the second act the actors tore apart a curtain with the image of the sun, which was not red and round but black and square. It symbolised the victory of an active human art over the passive form of the nature. The Black Square was the beginning of an abstract art in Russia and worldwide.

The biggest collection of works by Malevich is owned by the Russian Museum in St Petersburg. This December you will be able to see an exhibition dedicated to two periods of Malevich artistic work: before and after the square. The exposition offers around 100 paintings, drawings, sketches and decorations, as well as the playback of the mentioned opera.

This exhibition is a must for any lover of Russian culture and art in general.

RUSSIAN FEMALE ARTISTS EXHIBITION IN MOSCOW – (SECUREDATING.COM)

Russian Girl

From the 4th of October an exhibition dedicated to modern art by young Russian ladies will be held in Moscow, Russia.

The exhibition “I’d rather not be painting” gives us an excellent opportunity to find out how Russian women are developing the contemporary art in Russia, besides eccentric political performances by Femen and Pussy Riot. This project is concentrated on the personality of a young Russian girl, an artist that is trying to realize herself in everyday life and in art rather than on barricades. For example, she is documenting her travelling, creating some kind of a diary without words (Ustina Yakovleva), she is exploring her own sexuality (Kroshka Guer), or is analysing herself in a character of a wife (Mariya Pokrovskaya) and mother (Dariya Sintsova). But whatever she is doing, whichever social roles she is taking on herself, she still makes sure to stay herself.

This exhibition is about the space, problems and happiness of a modern Russian artist. Everyone has its own inner world, and not everybody is meant to be like Roza Luksemburg. In other words, life is a combination of simple but very important things, and in those things every woman is expressing herself as individuality.

If you want to get a more in-depth understanding of a tender soul of a modern Russian lady, or just to broaden your experience of Russian dating – this exhibition will be a good place to start
