Dating Ukrainian Ladies Fragile State

Pinchuk Art Centre presents an international exhibition “Fragile State” that includes works of 10 leading artists from all over the world. The exhibition is shown in Kiev, Ukraine and is available for all culture-oriented Ukrainian ladies, men and visitors of the country till the end of this year.

A fragile state often communicates a delicate and vulnerable moment, and this definition can be seen as the most precise description of the world around us. The expression “Fragile State” is a reflection on the fragile state of the world order, or, speaking more abstractly, it is corresponding with with ideological, cultural and social vulnerabilities. This expression can be also defined from more personal perspective as vulnerabilities of body and mind.

The exhibition wonders systematically between these different meanings of the expression “fragile state”. It urges the viewer to discuss topics where the vulnerability of our bodies and minds are interwind with the fragility of ideologies and interpretations of historical events. It draws the comparison between the fragility of youth and a country in the state of war, or maybe between the fragility of life and a country in a state of some kind of risk.

One of the exhibition’s devision is the work by Marina Abramovic – “Generator” 2014/2017. The Serbian artist invites the audience to experiment with their body, consciousness and the surrounding space while they are deprived of of being able to hear or see anything. This experiment transfers the meaning of the Fragile State onto the body and mind of the participant, making him or her vulnerable, and at the same time bringing the focus to the main theme of Abramovic’s work – emptiness or nothingness. As she puts it herself: “The most difficult part is to create something that is close to nothingness”.
